The Insulated ducting has a number of purposes. It prevents condensation forming on the duct surface and prevents heat being lost to the atmosphere. Storage of Ducting Products

All straight duct lengths are supplied either wrapped or within boxes, surrounded with white protective packaging to help mitigate damaging effects of sunlight exposure. Do not remove the white reflective packaging and leave in sunlight. UV exposure breaks down the polymer chains, resulting in a weaker molecular bondwithin the PVC, leading to reduced tensile strength and flexibility.

On receipt of goods, we recommend all PVC ducting products are immediately stored in a cool, shaded place to avoid damage due to heat build-up within the packaging. Any extrusions (lengths of product) should be stored horizontally and supported along the whole length of the product. In summer months, heat can build up inside packaging faster and there is a chance that PVC goods could become warped if stored incorrectly.
