Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery

Ideal when energy efficient heat recovery is required on a room-by-room basis. Easier to retrofit as compared to a wholehouse ventilation system. Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (dMVHR) uses the heat from the stale air that is being extracted to warm up the fresh air that is coming in. Therefore bringing in fresh but pre-warmed air providing ventilation whilst also saving energy. This type of ventialtion is ideal for refurbishment applications.

What is Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (dMVHR)?

Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (dMVHR) are units designed to improve indoor air-quality on a room-by-room basis. dMVHR units tend to be more efficient than traditional extract ventilation systems.

dMVHR units work by continuously extracting moist air from rooms in the home, which is especially important in bathrooms, utility rooms and kitchens. Unlike in traditional extraction systems, when fresh air is supplied from outside, it collects heat from the extracted air (via a heat exchanger) before entering the room. This heat energy transfer can help save money on energy costs, because it keeps temperatures more constant than when opening windows for ventilation. Latent air is recycled and transferred back into the room to keep a consistent temperature environment.

The Vent-Axia through-the-wall range of heat recovery ventilation units simultaneously extract stale air and introduce fresh air – warming the incoming airflow with heat recovered from the exhaust stream.

ESTIMATED RUNNING COSTS

Calculate estimated running costs for this product using the tool below.
For average costs*, leave the default values in place or enter your own figures in the boxes to recalculate.
Where a product has multi speeds, a typical installation has been used for the below calculations. *Running cost does not include the use of the heater on the heater model

pence
(Your current electricity cost in pence per hour. This will be listed on your electric bill)
hours
(The average number of hours per day fan to run in Trickle mode)
