About The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Draughtsperson to work alongside the Senior Design Engineer within a specialist and busy Design Office based in Waterlooville. You will gain knowledge of how to produce new and update existing drawings for some of the UK's largest construction projects as a specialist sub-contractor in smoke ventilation.

We are seeking someone who is organised, methodical, with excellent communication skills, and a high attention to detail. This role is suited for a recent graduate or a trainee with a background in construction, civil engineering, architecture, or engineering, seeking advancement within a busy, knowledgeable, technical team.

You will be provided with full industry training, and the opportunity for future progression within the design team as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Design Office team to understand design requirements and create detailed technical drawings, electrical block schematics and layout plans.
  • Ensure drawings supplied are accurate, detailed and meet Industry Standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with Design Office procedures.
  • Develop working drawings for use during Project Tender and Quotation.
  • Produce installation and manufacturing drawings.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD (2D) software.

  • Technical writing skills.
  • HNC / HND level in relevant Engineering discipline or AutoCAD. (Desirable)

  • Driver’s License.

The Sale Executive (East Anglia) will be responsible for identifying and maximising sales opportunities with Mechanical Consultancies, Contractors, and Industrial Distributors to increase Vent-Axia sales within the following regions; Essex, Romford, Stevenage, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Luton, Maidstone, Ipswich, Norwich, Peterborough. You must be based within the region to be considered.


The day-to-day role will involve advising, developing and producing ventilation design specifications and product selections with mechanical consultancies, ensuring that those specifications are maintained through the project chain with mechanical contractors and industrial distributors.


As a Sales Executive your responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving approx.16 appointments per week with mechanical contractors, mechanical consultancies and industrial distributors,
  • Carrying out project meetings,
  • Providing technical presentations,
  • Daily use of CRM systems and Glenigans for project leads,
  • Providing Technical assistance and product selections, quotations and designs.
  • Formulate quotations


To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience in technical sales is preferred (electrical or mechanical), however training will be provided around product ranges, system designs and selections, current building regulations and product installation.
  • Experience of engaging and building relationships with mechanical consultants, contractors and distributors.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements through research, discovery and qualification to drive leads through the early stages of the sales process to the end.
  • Understanding of the respective product ranges, system designs and selections, current building regulations and product installation.
