Overview

The HR205 unit is a residential mechanical ventilation designed solely to operate with the incorporated telescopic cooker hood. The unit transfers incoming fresh air, tempering it before it enters the habitable rooms. Its compact design allows installation within a standard kitchen cooker hob cupboard space.

Up to 185m³/h FID capacity (balanced airflow). Designed for use in apartments, flats and smaller dwellings. In particular those inner-city sites where noise ingress is a problem.

Installation

Designed for fitting above a residential cooker or residential hob. Units should be fitted a minimum of 700mm above the cooker/hob. Flat vertical area 1335mm high x 600mm wide is required for installation. The exhaust duct passes through an outside wall or roof and discharges to atmosphere in a suitable position. Clean air inlet duct passes through an outside wall or roof and should be suitably positioned to provide an adequate fresh air supply from atmosphere.

Performance

The MVHR unit has five normal fan speed settings and one boost setting. The performance curve chart gives the ventilation rates at each fan speed setting compared to the pressure drop of the system

When the telescopic hood is extended the MVHR unit switches automatically to boost. The hood passes the steam and fumes from cooking through the reticulated foam filters filters direct to the outside, bypassing the heat exchanger. The cooker hood must always be fully opened when the cooker/hob is in use.

Efficiency: The unit should retain up to 70% of the temperature differential of out going air.

Heat exchanger: should be of a multi plate cross-flow type constructed out of a polymeric plastic with ultra sonic welded joints.

Motor: should be a 240V 50Hz A/C with sleeve bearings, greased for life. It shall operate up to an ambient temperature of 40°C and be fitted with a manual reset thermal overload protective device.

Fan: The fan impeller should be of a forward curved centrifugal type, dynamically balanced. Manufactured from a polymeric material.

Controls: An integral multi-step transformer should power the unit. This will provide a switch gate between a selected slow speed and boost condition.The switch can be a manual or sensor type or a combination of both.

Ducting spigots: The unit should provide 100mm Ø x 40mm long spigots for all duct connections. The inlet and outlet configuration is fixed. (Can be converted to flat ducting).

Filter: should be a mat type over wire frame to minimum of EU2. A grease filter should be contained within the cooker hood.

Condensation Drain: The outlet provided should be 15mm ø located on the bottom left hand side of the unit.

Construction: The unit outer case should be constructed of white powder coated sheet metal with ABS spigot connections. All internal sheet metal to be galvanised or stainless steel.
