Vent-Axia Launches MCS Assistance Scheme

Vent-Axia, a leader in energy efficient technology, has launched a training initiative to help engineers gain Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation and thus assist with the shortfall of MCS accredited heat pump installers. Vent-Axia’s MCS Assistance Scheme supports engineers offering a comprehensive fast-track route to MCS accreditation. Comprising all the business procedures and documentation needed to pass the MCS audit, the scheme also includes a raft of practical tools to help engineers in their day-to-day business.

Vent-Axia’s MCS Assistance Scheme, is part of Vent-Axia’s new Heat Pump Division that was recently introduced to complement its Lo-Carbon™ collection of energy saving ventilation solutions. Providing installers with everything they need to pass the MCS first time round, the MCS Assistance Scheme can be completed in as little as four weeks. The aim of the scheme is to chaperone installers through the challenging MCS accreditation process. This ensures when it comes to the audit all the correct business processes are in place and boxes ticked.

“The Government is keen to increase the uptake of renewable heat technology, but there is currently a shortage of MCS approved heat pump installers. This makes it a great time for engineers to gain MCS accreditation and a competitive edge. However, it can prove a costly, time consuming process ensuring all the correct business processes are in place to pass the MCS audit. As well as comprising all the business procedures and documentation needed to pass the audit, the scheme also includes lots of practical tools that will help engineers in their day-to-day business, such as a sizing calculator for working out heat load; a payback calculator to instantly work out customers’ payback and an energy calculator which calculates the required kw/h rating under the RHI. Meanwhile, a training day coaches installers on how to use the scheme, complete the forms, approach the assessment, as well as pass the MCS annual assessment.

The cost of the MCS Assistance Scheme is £1950 and includes assessment and certification fees. There is also a cash-back voucher given to the MCS accredited installer on the purchase of their first Vent-Axia heat pump.
