Vent-Axia Brings Low Energy Air Movement To Eco Friendly Business Park
Towergate Insurance, Europe’s largest independently owned insurance intermediary, now benefits from a comprehensive, low energy Vent-Axia air movement solution at its new headquarters in Eclipse Park, Maidstone’s ‘environmentally responsible’ business park.
Eclipse Park has been developed to be one of the finest B2B commercial centres in the South of England. Its green credentials include environmentally considerate features such as ‘green roofs’, sustainable urban drainage systems and rain water ‘harvesting’. Phase 2 of the development will consist of five buildings once completed, the first of which is the four storey headquarters of Towergate Insurance.
Consultants on the project, ESP and Canterbury based contractor, Halsion selected a Vent-Axia Viking XP air handling unit alongside Vent-Axia ACM-125 in-line, twin acoustic and Euroflow extract fans to meet the air movement specification for this 30,000 sq ft space and the requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and Building Regulations.
Vent-Axia’s Viking Air Handling Units are purpose designed for ease of installation, longevity, low noise emissions and powerful air movement performance. They have a unique modular frameless construction which simplifies access and installation. When installed, they provide complete air management functionality and feature precise fan speed control, intelligent system sensors and heat recovery to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption. The unit specified for the Towergate Insurance building, is designed to provide an airflow duty of 4.2m³/s and provides heat recovery with an efficiency of up to 80%.
Eight Vent-Axia ACM-125 In-Line Mixed Flow fans have also been installed on Building 5 for extract ventilation purposes. Dimensionally compact, these fans feature low noise, non-overloading characteristics and almost two and a half times the pressure development of conventional axial fans for optimum energy efficiency. They each provide a maximum airflow of 252m3/hr. In addition, Vent-Axia has supplied a Quiet Pack Twin in-line twin fan, designed around a high performance centrifugal impeller, and a single timer-controlled KDF Euroflow Rectangular In-line unit to provide highly efficient, quiet and compact in-line extract ventilation, where required.
Vent-Axia’s comprehensive ventilation range is supported by extensive technical advice, design and ventilation applications expertise. This allows consultants, contractors, specifiers and building owners to understand key legislation and help match the right ventilation equipment to project requirements while identifying possible carbon savings available through Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ initiative.
